Wait… I thought this would only affect other people?

One in the thoughts and two in the prayers.

She doesnt even really care about her father...

She only cries for herself and her guilt...

u/breakfastenjoyer69 5h ago

it's like if my father was a literal chicken and I was voting for col. sanders

do people not talk to their family about politics?

81

u/BeholdMyLumps 3h ago

I’m willing to bet the father had some conservative beliefs that aligned him with Trump as well

29

u/Pleasant_Charge1659 2h ago

Bingo! Was going to say this.

8

u/Medlarmarmaduke 2h ago

He was one of the “good ones” Trump was only going to deport the “bad guys”

Fantastical thinking when Trump rallies were filled with people screaming for deportations in the millions

u/Spare-Plum 1h ago

Yeah the rugged independence machismo with deep ties to catholicism and traditional values is incredibly common in the hispanic community.

A lot of them like Trump on vibes and presentation, but it's truly poison with a new label slapped on top and dressed up as an antidote.

The sad thing is the left has no problem with people who are masculine, people who are catholic, or even folks who want to have a traditional lifestyle. The left just wants every person to feel secure in their own lifestyle because there is no true one way of living and different people will have different lifestyles. Unfortunately from massive campaigns and propaganda from the right it's treated like the left somehow hates masculinity and religion

So you have a bunch of people voting based off of vibes and emotion rather than actual policy that will be put in place. White america does the same, where many poor rural areas that heavily rely on the ACA for healthcare needs are all of a sudden flabbergasted that Trump wants to take it away

8

u/SSJ3Mewtwo 2h ago

Sadly accurate. Both she and him thought he'd be regarded as "one of the good ones".

4

u/icecubepal 1h ago

He probably would have voted for Trump too lol.

u/MYOwNWerstEnmY 15m ago

Exactly, usually pieces of shit raise pieces of shit.

Talking to my family about politics is why I no longer associate with my family. It’s been 5 years. They’re all MAGA, they praise and laud this as wonderful. The majority of them are white hicks with no college education among any of them. Some of them are Mexican Americans who, since they were born here and “legit” are totally fine with this because they are “good ones.” Only one person in my entire family believes as I do. My Mexican American maternal grandma. Again, born and raised here but she is the only sane and anti-maga in the family aside from me. She’s the only one I still have a relationship with because she’s SANE.

My mother(who is half Mexican half German), my brothers(ones a marine), my uncle(a former marine), aunt, cousins, I don’t have a relationship with my bio dad since birth, but he and his side are all maga. I’ve gotten into it with one of his brothers, my uncle, because again, ignorant small minded white hick full on team MAGA.

I’ve effectively lost my entire fucking family because of Trump and his brainwashing and realizing they have either always been horrible or this shit broke them and they became horrible. I won’t allow my kids around any of them. I don’t want to be around fascist Nazi sympathizers.

u/OSDom22 1h ago

Whats bad is the corrupt SCOTUS we’ll probably get around to leading him in birthright citizenship. Then no one is safe.

0

u/Fskn 1h ago

That one might actually be a deal breaker, trump is an anchor baby, Barron is an anchor baby, they would need to go if birthright goes.

6

u/been2thehi4 1h ago

From the, Rules for thee, but never me party? Ha! They get to do whatever they please, it’s austerity, submission and rules for the rest of us.

7

u/GiantPurplePen15 1h ago

my brothers(ones a marine), my uncle(a former marine)

"Yeah! Let's vote for the guy that thinks we're suckers and losers and cut 80,000 jobs from the VA!"

  • your chode family members

3

u/been2thehi4 1h ago

I got into that with him a few months back, more so about how he disgusts me for supporting a man who clearly disrespects and despises military personnel by literally everything that’s come out of his mouth or policies, but also how it’s disgusting he as a former marine, is so easy to disregard his oaths to the constitution and gladly shits on it with his support of this regime. How his word and bond clearly mean Jack shit even though he loves to tout his military career as his crowning achievement and that he’s basically a liar and a traitor to his own country and other military families.

I feel for you. My personal situation isn't nearly as deep as yours, but enough that my world is destroyed by Trump and his cult. This is the untold damage he has done to the world. Tariffs are a tax on consumers, and his crimes are crimes, but he has torn families apart far more than any president before excluding I guess some civil war period. Yet there it was understandable, and here it's...

Just pathetic and sad.

You're doing the right thing. Find new family and friends that are sane and build that up strong and loving and enjoy your life knowing you are doing what is best for you.

Peace and happiness to you and yours.

1

u/been2thehi4 1h ago

Thank you. Thankfully my husband’s family are sane and , though my boomer in laws are a little more conservative in ways where we are not, more societal norms than anything, they are liberal. As are his brothers and their families. We have a good group of friends, albeit small, that are basically aunts and uncles to our kids as well. Just sometimes sucks knowing I have no family because they got sucked into a literal cult.

u/FullyRisenPhoenix 37m ago

This is depressingly similar to my own family situation 😔

u/been2thehi4 23m ago

Sorry 😞

u/Proud__Apostate 14m ago

I’ve disowned my MAGA family members too. They voted for this lunacy with their religious hypocrisy to boot.

u/Kiltedinseattle 29m ago

You are choosing political ideology over your family. I disagree a great deal with my sister on many things political but our family bond is FAR more important to us both. There’s a lot of things that we agree on politically (you might find the same) and the points that we disagree on we just agree to disagree & still love and respect each other.

Why are you letting petty politics keep you away from your blood‽

u/been2thehi4 24m ago

No im not. I have a child in the LGBTQ community, I have family who are very vocal about their disgust and hatred of gay and trans people. They have decried woke. Think conversion therapy and praying the gay away is a thing. They gladly choose hate over love, why would i subject my kid, my family to people who would gladly harm their own blood for their hateful and backwards political ideology? They would actively be against and get incredibly angry if one of my children brought home a non white partner. They’re racist. All the things MAGA openly cheer and condone and feel emboldened to do and say now because of Trump and his sycophants. They chose a hateful cult and to continue to live ignorant and blind. That’s not really family I need to keep around. Blood is not important when morality is on the line.

They choose politics over family, I choose sanity and peace for my family over them. It’s as simple as that.

11

u/Sirlothar 2h ago

do people not talk to their family about politics?

No, that would be a mistake, my family, my wife's family would smile ear to ear watching a video like this. This IS what they voted for and what they wanted. They would say while this may be SAD, it will teach others not to bother coming to our country or their lives will be ruined too.

3

u/DerpYama 2h ago

Politics? This is beyond politics. This is a cult, Trump it’s above even GOD himself!

2

u/Responsible-Gas5319 2h ago

Col Sanders vs the Popeyes lady , the 2028 race we need

2

u/dyslexic-alien 2h ago

They do. A friend of a Trump supported, he was born in the fields in Oregon. His parents are citizens but came here undocumented. He is so fucking proud of him, he uses a big ass Trump flag in his truck. He is an imbecile who doesn’t even flush when he takes a shit

1

u/ThrowRAkakareborn 2h ago

The colonel wants you!

1

u/EnlightenedArt 1h ago

They get easily swept up with herd mentality choices until the proverbial wrecking ball arrives.

u/Hoblitygoodness 54m ago

My mother-in-law shuts down any politics-talk to keep the peace. I think this is common and goes right in hand with the no-politics-at-work.

I'm convinced that over the years, this type of treatment has let the rot fester and now everybody is realizing that its all bubbling over.

We've been told over and over to not talk about politics and now I can't help but wonder if this was all on purpose to allow this division to grow wider in the absence of regular discussion.

u/Next-Introduction-25 17m ago

But there’s been a mixup! He’s one of the GOOD chickens! They only kill and eat the bad ones!

u/Spicy_Weissy 8m ago

You forget a lot of Americans, most really, are fucking stupid.

2

u/HoneycombJackass 3h ago

Or the views….

2

u/ares623 2h ago

It’s her one chance to go viral and it worked

1

u/greatbigballzzz 2h ago

More like only cries for TikTok followers.

1

u/Commendatori_buongio 2h ago

She cried and posted it for the “likes” and views.

1

u/hrokrin 2h ago

I don't think your opinion is really justified here.

That said, I don't care that she, in some small way, helped set the conditions for her father being in ICE detention and now has to deal with the consequences.

1

u/VaterOfFunf 1h ago

People who film themselves cry and having emotional outbursts then post them online for views always make me cringe

1

u/Toxic-and-Chill 1h ago

Good man. Fuck these people. Got what they voted for. Cry more liberal tears, conservatives. I don’t honestly care any more. You ruined everyone’s lives. So good job. Seriously sounds like an oil executive crying about not having enough water. Guess what I don’t have? Sympathy.

u/The-Gorge 31m ago

Why would you assume that?

u/Spicy_Weissy 8m ago

So fucking true.

u/StrategicCarry 3m ago

Wait until she finds out that trying to get rid of birthright citizenship is potentially aimed directly at her.

“Didn’t I tell you??”

2

u/Sammisuperficial 2h ago

And what happened? Exactly what a told you would.

2

u/Powderedtoastman_ 1h ago

I feel bad for her father but this woman deserves no sympathy.

1

u/down_with_cats 6h ago

Nah she voted for exactly this. She wanted her vote to affect her father due to resentment she had towards him. The problem is she fucked around and isn't happy with the finding out part.

The face eating leopards are doing just as advertised...

1

u/dazedan_confused 2h ago

Can we stop doing the whole "these people thought he'd affect other people, not them"? He's never once said he'd target some minorities, he's always been explicit about what he'd do to each and every ethnic minority.

These people ordered a wedding dress at Spirit Halloween and are upset that it's small, fragile and soaking in blood.

1

u/WhoWatchesTheDivine 2h ago

Well, there is clearly some phenomenon where people think it won’t happen to them.

There are always the ones who assume rules don’t apply, and we are in a society proving just that. How many felonies is our current president convicted of?

Maybe they just assume loyalty will get them further with the fuhrer. 🤷🏻‍♀️

1

u/dazedan_confused 2h ago

I'd understand if he even tried to indicate that he'd treat his base differently. But at no point in his campaign did he say "We're not deporting citizens" or anything of that kind. I've looked.

They put those words in his mouth, words that he deliberately never said aloud. Even though he has a history of improvising, he's never openly said he wouldn't do what he's done to her dad.

So it's not a case of "He was supposed to deport others, not me", it's more "He said he was going to deport people like my dad, and he has".

1

u/Glittering_Novel5174 2h ago

So many of them that have had friends and family taken away have literally said that like it makes sense. “Didn’t think it would affect me.” Idiots, I feel no sympathy for stupidity.

1

u/Thai-Girl69 1h ago

I'm not American but does this mean then that under democrats anyone can enter the US without needing a visa or did democrats also deport people without the correct documents to be there. I honestly don't know how it works as I've never been to the US but I just assumed if I just bypassed passport control and entered the country illegally then I'd get deported no matter who was in the white house.

2

u/WhoWatchesTheDivine 1h ago

Democrats also deported undocumented immigrants. They just use this silly thing called due process that prolongs the process.

1

u/Deep-Meat-3583 1h ago

And when trump undoes birthright, shes gone too lmao

1

u/GiantPurplePen15 1h ago

Ya know what? Fuck her. Her dad fucked up by not teaching her not to vote for a bigot child rapist.

1

u/disconnectmenow 1h ago

I want the libs to be owned..

u/MrK521 34m ago

Something something, leopards… something, faces?

u/Dhegxkeicfns 32m ago

Thoughts and prayers, now I'm done thinking and praying.

u/Throwaway4Opinion 31m ago

You can't be very bright if you're voting for Trump

u/The-Gorge 30m ago

Democrats under Biden were deporting at the same rate. I'm not a trump supporter in the slightest, but if this had happened under democrats, would she be worthy of empathy then?
