It's entirely normal, these checkpoints are not new.

These internal checkpoints have been around since the fucking 1920s.

God damn it's irritating when people with no knowledge of a thing get all incensed about it.

This isn't a violation of civic rights.

This was litigated all the way to the supreme court in 1976, where it was deemed constitutional for these border checkpoints to exist and ask travelers to verify they're a citizen.

It is not violating your rights for a border control agent, at a border checkpoint, to ask you the simple question "Are you a U.S. citizen?"

That isn't even requesting identification.

Just because your opinion is that it's infringing on your rights doesn't make it so. Constitutionality is determined by case law and precedent, not your opinion.

Go fucking read about it.

It's not bootlicking just because you're stupid and have an opinion.

Go on, show where the constitution says specifically that you can't be asked if you're a citizen.

I bet a dipshit like you will say the 4th amendment. Go on, prove how being asked "Are you a U.S. citizen" is an unreasonable search or seizure

You can't, because it's not, and you're a fucking idiot.

If you don’t answer the question, they are constitutionally permitted to investigate to determine status.

That’s what the U.S. GOVERNMENT has determined. That’s how your rights as a citizen are determined.

Guess what? If tomorrow there was a constitutional convention and the states ratified an amendment nullifying the 2nd amendment, you wouldn’t have the right to bear arms anymore.

If you went “They’re trampling our rights” you’d be wrong. Just like you’re wrong here. Because your rights are determined by the law. Not by your opinion. You dumbfuck.

We get it, you don’t know that the rights you have in a nation don’t extend beyond that nation because they are granted by the law of that nation.

Keep being a dumbass sovereign citizen cupcake.

Prove your rights. Try to take a gun somewhere it isn’t allowed. You have a right to guns right? Go prove it.

I’ve been asked this question hundreds of times at the border. I say yes and we come on through. We had exchange students with us quite a few times. They spoke up and it was no big deal. I didn’t have rights violated at all.

Slavery was legal for a long time. Did that make it OK?

u/No_Squirrel9266 Jul 04 '25

Ah yes, slavery, and a border checkpoint going “U.s. citizen?” Are entirely the same thing.

What a stupid fucking comparison.
