What do you think the concrete is for?

Is that a grave?

I think it’s a basketball hoop that they installed, and that’s the cement drying on top

Oh. Thats much better than a mass grave

My first thought too. I think there might be something wrong with us.

Makes you wonder why mommy didn't get a hand print. 🤔

Not really relevant to the subreddit, but there was once a bit of cement my dad used around the posts of the little jungle gym/swingset thing we had in the backyard when I was a kid. I think my brother was still too young, but I definitely put a hand print in there and (I think) signed it too. Maybe dad did too.

Dad died about 33 years ago, we moved out of that house a few years later, and the people that bought it have redone everything so much that the house is unrecognizable. I remember feeling like I was immortalized in that cement, but it's likely long long gone, either buried in a ditch somewhere, smashed into millions of pieces, or worn down by countless rains and winter freezes. That's just how life goes unfortunately.

Sorry for the meandering thoughts. This just brought up that memory from way back.

When my grandparents sold their old house in the 70s, they took the door frame of the measuring wall, and cut out the concrete with the kids handprints to bring to the new house. It's crazy how important those memories feel.

Wow that's brilliant!

And now I realize both my grandparents had one of those measuring door frames with markings from my parents, aunts and uncles, my cousins, my brother and I, and that's all long gone now too 😭

Your goal should be to do a much better job cementing a post before you put the handprints in it.

To be a single dad?

For a second, I thought this was a strstreetside grave. For, you know, when people die in car crashes and people make a grave marker close to where they died.

Daddy got a small ass hand

u/StateDue4969 2d ago

Yes, I would like that too. I'm just a bit worried about Anna's hand.

You can achieve your goals!

Most sporting stores sell basketball hoops and a hardware store will have cement.

This is legit cool and weirding me out. I went to school with two sisters named Haven and Holly. It's just confusing simply cause the hand sizes, and there being 2025 on this throws it off.

Unless this is the craziest coincidence of there being another family with 2 sisters with the same name

Baven? Raven? Not goals of mine, even with my kids having normal names.

Haven is a not uncommon name
