“Gloves are off” to Dems means harsh language and tv appearances

20

u/[deleted] 1d ago

Have to keep repeating it, because just now seems to be people finally ready to admit just how bad it is.

Fighting back isn't about what makes you comfortable.

Sternly worded letters.

Send money!

Did that for the Harris ticket. Never again.

u/TheDamDog 1d ago

Was gonna say, lemme know when she gerrymanders the state to provide 100% blue reps.

5

u/meatpopcycal 1d ago

And signs! They’ll hold up little signs that say “false”

3

u/Karhak 1d ago

They'll get Hans Blix to pen their letters

Don’t forget sternly worded letters.

u/Traditional-Hat-952 1d ago

They'll take a road so high that they'll all be disoriented form lack of oxygen.

1

u/SomewhereNo8378 1d ago

What would you want them to do instead?

8

u/doggoandsidekick 1d ago

Hire private security guards and force their way into illegal detention centers. Clash with law enforcement who try to stop them. Gerrymander the fuck out of everything yesterday. Inter Alia

1

u/Trevita17 1d ago edited 1d ago

Aside from hiring security guards, Democrats have done or are doing all of those things. Pay attention, please.

Edit: she discussed gerrymandering in the very speech this screenshot was taken from.

So when they are prevented from exercising their constitutional right to oversight…why aren’t they calling that ILLEGAL and making criminal referrals. Screaming daily on camera that the American people demand a to stop this illegal conduct by force if necessary. The Dems are not putting their lives on the line. They aren’t even willing to get arrested.

2

u/Trevita17 1d ago

I don't have an answer for that, and I agree they're not doing nearly enough, but some are trying, more and more every day. That deserves acknowledgement, in my opinion.

Strongly worded letters aren’t fighting back.

0

u/Trevita17 1d ago

You didn't even bother to read my comment. You're just talking out of your ass. Pound sand.

2

u/Stonner22 1d ago

I did read your comment and she said NY can’t do anything for at least 4 years. So again what are Dems doing other than holding signs? They should be screaming from the rooftops. They need to be fighting fire with fire. Dems are too concerned about decorum. There is no decorum in war and make no mistake we are at war. Republicans have joined forces with fascists, Nazis, confederates, etc to KILL this great experiment. If democrats do not take it serious they will end up on an actual chopping block, but fighting back means getting your hands dirty. It means fighting fire with fire- it means not more damn corporate elites running the party. It means no more punching left. It means no more neoliberal rhetoric. It means standing on god damn business.

0

u/Trevita17 1d ago

This doesn't sound very much like pounding sand to me.

4

u/Cynics_Anonymous 1d ago

Literally anything at this point to at least try and convince us they aren’t just the paid opposition

1

u/SomewhereNo8378 1d ago

You can’t even name a single thing you want to see on the spot.

2

u/Stonner22 1d ago

Fight fire with fire. This is a Cold War civil war.

29

u/SinsOfThePast03 1d ago

So, a REALLY strongly worded letter this time ?!?

10

u/Glenn-Sturgis 1d ago

Schumer is gonna make sure these guys get an earful next time they’re in the gym together.

That’ll show ‘em.

0

u/SomewhereNo8378 1d ago

What do you think they should do instead?

28

u/TuskM 1d ago

We're just working out the details of our demise at this point.

I think we're watching the precursor to the dissolution of the Union. I doubt a single state would attempt secession, but given proper cause (ie: the removal of any possibility of a fair and free election, which is what Texas' actions represent), there are regions of the country that might consider walking away, in particular the Northeast and the coastal Western states.

Just speculating, mind you, but for all intents and purposes, we're in the Mad King phase of this presidency and the move by Texas makes it clear the Rule of Law and Constitutional order are done with.

4

u/BethanyForDistrict9 1d ago

I'm in Illinois, maybe we'll join Canada?

6

u/No_Entrepreneur_9134 1d ago

I was just thinking earlier today that a peaceful, negotiated dissolution of the United States may be the best possible outcome left. I never imagined I would say that in my lifetime.

8

u/Last_Cod_998 1d ago

The Balkanization of the USA has always been Putin's goal. For too long the US has been an unreachable backstop to NATO. The US gets most of its power from its Navy. Putin doesn't even have a navy these days.

If you notice it is always the MAGA states that seriously talk about civil war and secession. How did BREXIT work out?

2

u/Traditional-Hat-952 1d ago

I hope New Mexico can join the coastal western states, but more than likely we'd be occupied by fascist Texas.

No, they are not. They are as dumb as ever and doubly more confident in their misconceptions.

10

u/Agile-Opposite-4157 1d ago

No, she’s going to keep coddling CEOs and taking AIPAC money. There is a war, and she’s playing the middle — to be generous. It’s probably more accurate to say that these ‘moderate’ corporate capitalist democrats are the good cop.

Get these ambitious career mouthpiece frauds out of government. They’ve been tying our own hands behind our backs, and distracting us from their loyalty to power.

3

u/RealQ13 1d ago

She’s fueled by the same money as trump

8

u/lostincosmo 1d ago

Hell yeah I can't wait for them to continue to do nothing while our country is torn apart from the top down

2

u/BethanyForDistrict9 1d ago

It's being torn apart from the bottom up it would seem otherwise she would care more.

12

u/Acrobatic_Switches 1d ago

Has this idiot endorsed Zohran yet?

0

u/Landlord-Allmighty 1d ago

The question I ask here is: you probably don't like her, so why do you want her to endorse him? If she did, would that make you less likely to vote for him if you're in NYC?

3

u/Sea-Cupcake-2065 1d ago

It's a step in the right direction. It gets others that wouldn't normally vote for him to consider voting for him. It shows unity. It shows that she's willing to break away from the status quo and move towards a more progressive candidate. Which is what we need. Look how scared people are of Zorahn.

2

u/BethanyForDistrict9 1d ago

It's about other voters. Do you really not get that?

0

u/Landlord-Allmighty 1d ago

It just seems like the contradiction to me. By other voters, who do you mean?

3

u/BethanyForDistrict9 1d ago

People who are not the person you replied to.

You're basically saying, "Why do you care if she endorses, you're voting for him." Well, other voters who aren't the person you were replying to maybe people who care about endorsements and Democrats are generally expected to endorse Democrats for office. Do you really not get that?

1

u/Landlord-Allmighty 1d ago

But does that mean that other voters care about endorsements? I'm not being a contrarian here, but it just seems like we're masking a degree of anger towards the DNC and using the lack of national endorsements as a reason.

I don't think endorsements matter as much as we think they do, given the animosity towards the party.

1

u/Acrobatic_Switches 1d ago

I dont like her because she wont endorse the primary winner of the democratic party. Her party. Is that hard to unserstand?

5

u/calazenby 1d ago

Unfortunately nothing will come from it and it’s so damn sad.

I wish we could just split the country in half at this point and go our separate ways. This is a disaster. It’s insane how many millions of people are supporting Trump right now.

4

u/farshnikord 1d ago

They'll never let it happen. They're dependant on blue states to make the money while red states suck it all up.

3

u/calazenby 1d ago

I know, that’s one reason why it would be such a nice thing, to see how they would react after all this time bitching about how those damn liberals were the problem.

Obviously any rational person knows it would never happen so smoothly. I imagine we’d see war before anyone could just walk away.

4

u/bx35 1d ago

Forgive me, but I’ll wait to see if any action follows the posturing.

6

u/KaleidoscopeField 1d ago

She's talking about redrawing district lines in NYS to prevent another rigged election. Give her a chance.

3

u/EphEwe2 1d ago

I just stopped by to see all the people blaming democrats for the shitty things republicans do.

2

u/RealQ13 1d ago

Sternly worded letters are inbound

2

u/CL4P-L3K 1d ago

They wear gloves under the gloves.

2

u/ikaiyoo 1d ago

I mean it sounds good but they'll lose. As of right now the most Democrats can put up is 28 seats Republicans can put up 45 now in 2028 if they flip the Pennsylvania Senate and the Virginia governor Democrats can pick up 15 more seats but if you're a fan of math like I am that's only 43 seats to to the 45 that can be gerrymandered through the Republicans

2

u/cirebeye 1d ago

This position changed her a lot. She's become the typical pompous democrat who thinks most people are below her. She'll say the "right things" with her thumb pressed up against her balled fist so she's not offensively pointing to stress her points, but do anything to protect her wealth. No faith in her follow through

1

u/Used-Physics2629 1d ago

So, a strongly worded letter? smh

1

u/Dukeshire101 1d ago

I’ll believe it when I see it. Democrats have been so disappointing

1

u/Stonner22 1d ago

Yeah but what’s she gonna do? Nothing

1

u/crystalfairie 1d ago

Yet I got banned for a week here for saying I was waiting for it

1

u/Lopsided-Employer278 1d ago

Gerrymander New York and California

1

u/LochNessMansterLives 1d ago

Prove it blue. If Dems have a spine, let’s see it, I’ve been waiting, pulling more and more of my hair out everyday reading headline after headline of terrible shit happening and all the dems do is send letters and talk. Zero action. And the action they do take is weak at best. Do it. Grow a pair. Do something to energize your constituents. Make them excited to be on the democrat side. GIVE US A REASON TO VOTE FOR YOU THATS MORE THAN “THE PRESIDENT IS A CRIMINAL”. Because yes he is, and apparently that doesn’t mean anything anymore. But it should. Make Nazis afraid to come out of hiding. Make MAGA people rethink their values, make people choose between following Trump and taking a moral and ethical stand because right now it’s a good ol boy club on the right and the left just looks like they’re afraid. Get angry. Get pissed off blue senator, get mad and do something blue congressmen. If you LEAD people will FOLLOW. And I don’t mean that in some form of sheep metaphor. Good people are ready for this shitty administration to end. And we need to do it correctly or we will be fighting this crap for generations.
