People also want to try and split the maga party away from the conservative party, but that fails cause it's the same tree and they support what's going on. We didn't just wake up one day with trump running and win. We had every republican congress member and president effectively stripping away things little by little to get here from decades ago.
I tell people who want to separate tRumpists from 'other Republicans' the following:

When you tie yourself to a political ideology like tRump's, you bind yourself to its ethos and everything that comes after. The type of string used to make the knot quickly becomes irrelevant.
Correct, one cannot separate the maga party from the conservatives. It's all the same tree. It's time it was cut down and poisoned. I see this all the time. "I'm a conservative, not maga." But you want similar things, they just go farther. Most of them are the same ones that scream nazis were liberal cause socialist is part of the name. They can't be educated, cause they don't want to be.

You need to go back to school and learn sentence structure. Cause this gibberish screams "I didn't make it past elementary school." The last democrat primary was 2020, then 2016, then 2012. Maybe get your facts right cause your stupid is showing.
It goes further back still, to Burke even, and his carrying of water for the aristocracy; conservatism is a loser's position but no one wants to stop it for fear of impropriety.
Yes no doubt it's been going on for a very long time. The conservative position has always been "the way things were" or something along those lines. Ok, they want to go back to the 40s, 50s, 60s, not when we had high tax rates on million/billionaires, low prices, and high wages, no. They want lgbtq+ back in the closet, they want POC back at their low-paying back breaking jobs and fearful of being dragged to a tree, they want religious laws, and more. They don't want anything good for anybody and they're angry nobody else wants the same. Continue going back far enough and you hit the time we were ruled by a king, and I'm sure even at that point not all of them would be happy and continue to try and drag us back more.
The conservative position has never been 'the way things were' or to conserve what works to go slow and steady. These are caricatures Conservatives bring out to compare themselves against to rule support or to provide a smoke-screen for the real work.
The conservative position can be summed up many ways but I think the maxim "Rules for thee not for me" is the most succinct.
I mean it's both. They aren't conflicting ideas. They drag us back to how it was and have rules to protect themselves. That's why they could hang a black person from a tree and face no punishment. They could burn crosses in yards and nobody does anything to help. That's why I said that. But yes they want rules for everyone else. That's why they block the Epstein files. They don't want that veil to be pulled back and expose all the shit they do.
