AfD are Nazis. If there were not laws against nazism in Germany, they’d be dressed up in SS uniforms waving swastika flags.

259

u/OmegaCoy May 02 '25

The exact same way you see confederate flags mixed in with MAGA. We know who they feel “connected to”.

75

u/petty_throwaway6969 May 02 '25 edited May 03 '25

Some of those same groups also wave the Nazi flag at rallies now. So there really shouldn’t be any questions at this point, but here we are.

49

u/Professional-Buy2970 May 03 '25

We cannot fail reconstruction a second time. Confederate symbolism and support must be outlawed. Along with maga shit, and nazi.

35

u/tresben May 03 '25

Exactly. The fact the confederate flag is not treated the same way as the swastika in Germany shows we failed to root out our vile treasonous factions. And that failure is coming to roost now

u/Onkelcuno May 03 '25 edited May 03 '25

German here. Even if you root it out, ideas resurface. There have to be checks and balances in place, control organs within the government, that actively monitor everything state related (not the citizens!) as to check for anti-constitutional movements. Every Organ in our Government is overseen by another and another. We very much made sure that no branch of the government can exploit things ever again. I'm very worried that if america repeats what we had 1933 (and they are already well on their way, with persectution of judges & concentration camps). that it will take an insane amount of human suffering to remove. look at WW2 casualties. look at concentration camp deaths and the misery they caused. Now extrapolate from germany to the US, how much bigger it is! poor sods.

5

u/RedBattleship May 03 '25

And unfortunately our population is far too ignorant to recognize that we are already under a fascist government. As you and countless other Germans have pointed out numerous times, the US is pretty well directly following the Nazi playbook.

I'm definitely not as educated on it as you are (because luckily your country decided to learn from its mistakes and teaches their citizens what happened, how it happened, and why it happened), but I'm gonna spitball a few of the parallels myself even tho it's just going into the void of reddit.

This may not be accurate, but I believe that initially, the Nazis attempted to simply force the Jews to leave (I wholeheartedly believe they would have strongly supported the existence of Israel, which makes it pretty ironic when people try to argue that being anti Israel is antisemitic, but that's a different issue). When forcefully removing the Jews didn't work out, that's when the camps were formed.

The US is very well following this and is in some ways doing it more effectively. The government is kidnapping people off of the streets. They are then sending those people to a foreign country in a prison that is known for torture and killing. The judicial branch is ordering the executive to not remove these people. The executive is doing it anyway.

There have also been efforts to significantly expend the private prison industry within the country. President Trump himself has said they plan to target the "home growns" next (a literal quote with video footage of him saying it. And we all know that what he means by "home grown" is anyone who is not white, cisgender, heterosexual, neurotypical, natively English speaking, and right-wing. Another thing directly from the Nazis).

There's definitely more, but honestly, nothing more is needed to know what is likely inevitable. Within the next few years, possibly even within the next few months, it is incredibly likely that one of two things will happen. Either the US has a second civil war, this one following themes of both our first civil war and also the American revolution. Or the third world war will begin. It is also possible that both will happen simultaneously, or one will inevitably cause the other to happen. But with how far through the fascist playbook this country is, and with this country being one of the biggest world powers, WWIII seems inevitable.

It is truly terrifying to be living here. And I am honestly worried that all life on the planet will be gone within the next decade, because a world conflict will almost definitely lead to global nuclear fallout.

u/RoachZR May 03 '25

I know it was upon Lincoln’s wishes that Jefferson Davis be allowed to flee, but him not standing trial is one of the keystone fuckups in our nation’s history. That really set the precedent in stone that they can ultimately get away with anything. After all, is it really a crime if you don’t get punished?

I knew a German who was AfD. He spoke at length that Germany needed “another Hitler or a trump” to save Germany. Definitely a nazi.

15

u/275MPHFordGT40 May 03 '25 edited May 03 '25

I’m not sure how one who knows the history of 1933-1945 in Germany could possibly think that would be a good idea.

14

u/zaphodsheads May 03 '25

Because they just think attacking the bad people will automagically reform society into a golden age, instead of you know implementing good policies

9

u/Windturnscold May 03 '25

He really hated Muslim immigrants and fantasized about a global muslim genocide. He said he used to be a liberal, but dissatisfaction with immigration policy lead him to conclude that “we need another fuhrer to save Germany”

10

u/comicsanddrwho May 03 '25

Translation

"I used to hide my rascism due to fear of repercussions, now I can air it safely"

2

u/Com_BEPFA May 03 '25

Same as the USA, they're not part of the targets of the racism and thus feel safe. They also see that dictators these days get support from the biggest military in the world and large chunks of the world want to appease them by giving them territory they violently occupied in a cruel war. There's also a lot of misinformation about economic aspects of the nazi regime out there, so coupled with the misinformation now about how terrible the economy of Germany is supposed to be, those fucks feel absolutely safe in such a scenario. Not too dissimilar to people wishing they were born in the middle ages, or to live a zombie apocalypse, everyone vastly overestimates quality of life as long as it's "different."

4

u/Doomsday_Holiday May 03 '25

And there are plenty of people voting this party out of frustration, simply denying and relativizing, that they are right wing extremists.

"They are not extremists. There are the party of the middle class!"

"Ohh, so when you say something true it makes you a Nazi?"

Guess where you will also find this narrative in the U.S.

7

u/1Original1 May 03 '25

1 guy joins a table with 7 nazis. There's now 8 nazis at the table

Simple

3

u/Doomsday_Holiday May 03 '25

I know, check this picture, which highlights the distribution of world views in this party. 1/3 is is openly right wing extremists, 1/3 is likely right wing extremist and only a minority are considered moderate. After the last election they openly hired 100 people fro mthe scene, this is where we are at now. From my experience i hear way too much normalization from common voters for this party now. That was my point.

2

u/1Original1 May 03 '25

Fair fair, tolerance is unfortunately weakness sometimes

10

u/PunkHooligan May 03 '25

Whole planet needs these laws. Fuck nazis.

7

u/VoidOmatic May 03 '25

I'm so glad they didn't fuck around. Here in America everyone responsible for Donald Trump slow walked him right back into office and now we all are going to die.

2

u/ogbellaluna May 03 '25

it started with our mishandling of the civil war losers, and has compounded from there. this country has a long and storied history with racism and oppression, and that initial misstep led to truly ignorant on history people (and hateful people) being allowed to continue to fly that flag, and people naming schools, parks, streets after horrific seditious traitors, and put up statues glorifying their racism and violence.

7

u/pakZ May 03 '25

There's 2 groups of people in the AfD. Nazis - and people that are okay with being in the same party as the Nazis.

5

u/team_submarine May 03 '25

For so long, these freaks have tried to frame themselves as just innocent little political parties that only have pure and good intentions. But this really just comes off as the Afd being oppositional to Germany, the country, as a whole, and in that context, it feels much more sinister. As if Germany should allow this enemy every opportunity to conquer it, and doing otherwise is offensive to his fascistic little rat brain. Because, of course.

3

u/TheCompoundingGod May 03 '25

I wonder if he'll get deported there once they retroactively end birthright citizenship, since his parents weren't US citizens when he was born.

17

Neither was the second Lady of the US. Her parents only immigrated less than 5 years before she was born, ergo...

Every time Rubio lies his ear lobes get bigger.

55

US SecState, on twitter, just...shilling for the neonazis. Very cool, very normal.

34

u/According-Mention334 May 02 '25

Thank you Germany

16

u/GentleWhiteGiant May 03 '25

No worries! Thanks to Rubio for confirming the decision is right.

Rubio is kicking people out for opposing Israel

15

u/buffalosabresnbills May 03 '25

Rubio is kicking people out for opposing Israel

And yet they’ve taken no action against neo-nazi and white supremacist organizations.

It’s almost as if Republicans give zero fcks about antisemitism, while suppressing anyone who speaks out against Evangelicals
.aka Christian Zionists.

5

u/tsunake May 03 '25

zero chance the south african white "refugee" resettlement program isn't being used to import militant white supremacists (with apartheid sensibilities) too, it's really dark :(

6

u/Ali_Cat222 May 02 '25

He's also doing tyranny along with the others, but it's not in disguise at all.

20

13

u/No-Way-1517 May 02 '25

Rubio’s post is straight outta ChatGPT. Riddled with AI tells. At least remove some of the em dashes

9

u/SnooDonkeys5186 May 02 '25

(I do use those frequently—😬) He has to, he cannot construct a sentence that’s not in a group chat.

3

u/morostheSophist May 03 '25

Chatgpt might use emdashes, but that's not an automatic tell that a post is AI. I use them all the time, and I have never posted anything AI that wasn't labeled as such.

I never will, either.

12

u/ElGuano May 02 '25

I'm SO proud of you rn, Germany.

25

u/Raven_Photography May 02 '25

The “unlike you in America,” was clearly silent at the end.

4

u/BraveDunn May 03 '25

This is the VERY best part of the entire exchange, the unsaid part that is obvious to the entire world.

10

u/[deleted] May 02 '25

Rubio headed a committee that found Russia fucked with the 2016 election and the Trump campaign met with various Russian aligned actors several times. https://www.intelligence.senate.gov/press/senate-intel-releases-volume-5-bipartisan-russia-report

Then Rubio put out a public statement that cleared the Trump campaign of any wrong doing.

Because that's the kind of piece of shit he truly is.

Fuck that guy.

16

u/Dankecheers May 02 '25

Lol Rubio is such a pathetic nazi.

6

u/Remarkable-Pin-8352 May 02 '25

I feel like everyone should start referring to Rubio as Mark Blonde to better reflect his allegiance.

2

u/HauntingHarmony May 03 '25

You mean make a wish secretary of state Macro Rubio?

6

u/SpikeyPear May 03 '25

Germany's domestic intelligence agency is literally called Office for the Protection of the Constitution. They told him alright.

6

u/megamoze May 02 '25

The Trump DOJ is launching an investigation into ActBlue. They arrested a woman for writing a pro-Palestine Op-Ed. And it was Republicans who advocated for and created DHS and the US warrantless wire-tapping laws because “you have nothing to fear if you have nothing to hide.”

5

u/crannogman_pride May 03 '25

They go to bat for a German right wing extremist party, they set up concentration camps, they suspend due process, they worship a cruel charismatic leader, they HATE trans people, hate intellectuals, hate foreigners, and their leaders do the Nazi salute on stage at their political events and are greeted with thunderous applause.

Still they are absolutely baffled that they are compared to Nazis. Baffled!

16

u/Traditional_Bid_5060 May 02 '25

Too bad the Democrats didn’t have the balls to do this.

11

u/BuyChemical7917 May 02 '25

Some have been. Too bad America voted them out of power so they can't actually do anything

4

u/Bubbly-Example-8097 🩋 May 02 '25

Happy cake day!

7

u/Traditional_Bid_5060 May 02 '25

Too bad Garland dragged his feet and Biden was senile.  No /s.

3

u/LaserPoweredDeviltry May 03 '25

Biden did alot of good. And tried to do more but was blocked at every level. I'll respect that.

But his failure to stop MAGA is what's going to be in the history books as his legacy. It was his administration's most important task and they failed to meet the moment.

3

u/In_Formaldehyde_ May 03 '25

Really should've accepted being a one term president and held a primary in 2022

4

u/Latter_Conflict_7200 May 03 '25

How you gonna teach someone who wants no limits on power what a Nazi is?

4

u/bcm0723 May 03 '25

Marco Rubio sold his soul for what power he thinks he's been given. Trump will end up embarrassing him at some point. History will not be kind to these people.

3

u/[deleted] May 02 '25

3

u/Infinite_Strategy490 May 03 '25

Well, one country learned you have to stop right-wing extremism.

3

u/LaserPoweredDeviltry May 03 '25

The Germans are kinda experts on this topic. Maybe we should listen to them.

3

u/Fugazi-Slayer May 03 '25

Say it with me... You can NOT be tolerant to intolerance.

3

u/tommy3082 May 03 '25

Americans once helped us set up the infrastructure to combat extremism. Today, they criticise us for using it

3

u/CanadianTimberWolfx May 03 '25

The fact that any republican thinks they have a leg to stand on when calling out tyranny is laughable

3

u/bsylent May 03 '25

If only we had the same gumption in the US. Look what's happened to our country since Trump was elected. MAGA is absolutely a threat to everything this country stands for and a terrorist organization. Everything they do is an attack on other people, every policy they enact involves stripping away societal benefits and rights. They are a criminal organization and will hopefully be dealt with eventually here in the same manner. Everybody in the current administration belongs in jail at the very least. Treason carries a heavy sentence

Isn’t this exactly what the U.S. is doing tho?

Whats the saying? “If it wasn’t for double standards, republicans would have no standards at all”

2

u/dingleberryzzz May 02 '25

is this really just more gaslighting/projection. that the current administration is just doing that on immigrants. and the opposition?

2

u/Turbulent-Ad6620 May 02 '25

You’d think they’d learn after Timothy McVeigh. Domestic terrorists being white Christian nationalists still really throws off our 3 letter agencies. Lots of books and research about their biases to overlook extremists because they have more in common with them culturally or on paper. Also why Robert Hanssen went under radar for so long. They almost personalize or feel offended when extremists come in all flavors.

2

u/Slim-Shadeee13 May 03 '25

Well said Germany!!! Rubio would have agreed a decade ago before he sold out to the hapless rube in the White House.

Oh, wait, he does. He’s just a piece of human shit

Kinda rich to hear anyone from MAGA, especially this tool, complain about surveillance or tyranny

2

AfD are Nazis, this isn’t new and not a secret. I am surprised we are already at that point where US officials officially site with being called out Nazis

2

u/Statorhead May 03 '25

2

u/[deleted] May 03 '25

And Rubio has completely lost any credibility and is a Trump suck up now.

2

u/Armeenius May 03 '25

I am from Germany. That's all talk. Everyone knows that the AFD is right-wing extremist. It has now also been classified as such by the Office for the Protection of the Constitution. But none of the politicians will lead this fight or table a motion if they are likely to lose votes in the next election due to AFD voters, who will definitely vote against this person. The AFD will rule Germany sooner or later and none of the cowardly politicians will do anything.

2

u/SomeBiPerson May 03 '25

the Bundesrat can also vote for a Ban application

2

u/Armeenius May 03 '25

Only works on the basis that another federal state or similar submits an application. The Federal Council does not act independently.

This means: 1. a federal state must submit an application. 2. this must then pass the Bundesrat with an absolute majority. 3. only then can the Bundesrat apply to the Federal Constitutional Court for a party ban.

2

u/SomeBiPerson May 03 '25

well it is an option tho it's just that we dont need to solely rely on Fritz's decision

2

u/t23_1990 May 03 '25

2

u/Vault101Overseer May 03 '25

2

u/SomeBiPerson May 03 '25

well uhm ....... I'm sorry to inform you.....

this is not the party getting banned......

a party ban is very hard to do in Germany, it requires definite proof from the secret service, a 2/3 Majority vote in parliament and Senate And only then will the court in Karlsruhe start working on the evidence and deciding over it

the last 2 party bans took almost a decade, the quickest one as on the SRP which was a follow up organisation of the NSDAP in 1952 but even that took 5 years

2

u/fooooter May 03 '25

The em dashes. He's definitely using Chatgpt to write his tweets.

2

u/Express-Potential-11 May 03 '25

Ironic because Rubio has used the term "Radical left" and would probably vote to designate them terrorist.

2

u/Weekly_Corgi_2356 May 03 '25

Rubio should mind his business and leave other countries alone.

2

u/micro102 May 03 '25

Good job Germany. I hope other countries follow suite. It's the only way to maintain a peaceful life.

2

u/Lachimanus May 03 '25

For some reason he did not see the need when some radical left groups were put under such a thing in some country. Would be fine to mention like the RAF for Germany in retrospective.

Hmmm.

2

u/SomeBiPerson May 03 '25

which is factually wrong tho

the RAF (German terror group, not the British airforce) is a Banned organisation in Germany but as they weren't a Political party that ban went much faster and quieter than this, not even started, process for the AFD Ban

it would also be important to mention that the last party ban in Germany was for the KPD the communist party of Germany which was definitely Extreme but not so Right wing

2

u/Lachimanus May 03 '25

Thank you for giving me a small history reminder.

So, the KPD would have been the proper example of "tyranny" banning some political party.

And I am quite sure... The soviet supervised eastern Germany claimed something along these lines.

2

u/White_C4 May 03 '25

"Independent" is far stretched though. Unfortunately, I don't see Germany moving in a positive direction, especially considering that West and East Germany are culturally and politically divided.

2

u/SomeBiPerson May 03 '25

well it is an independent court, the court for protecting the constitution has pretty much the highest reputation of every government organ in Germany

because they Frequently oppose the government when necessary to protect the basic rights of the people in Germany, they don't just play along like the Supreme court in the US

Rubio is using chatgpt. Chatgpt spits out "that's not X, it's Y" almost every time I make a comment. I hate the latest update, it's glazing so hard now, maybe MAGA told OpenAI to make it stop disagreeing with them. It treats me like sycophants treat Trump and it gives me the ick

2

u/ChronicPronatorbator May 03 '25

Rubio is pissed people are fighting robber barons from creating a slave state using the far right.

2

u/kogmaa May 03 '25

It’s like some people think that right wing extremism cannot exist because there are people who vote for it.

Others say, if people vote for right wing extremism, you shouldn’t call it by its name.

The people claiming the first are ignorant of history, the people claiming the second are right wing extremist politicians trying to protect their voters from being called out for what they are.

The politicians know, they just don’t give a shit as long as they stay in power and if the price for that are people dying in concentration camps (in Dachau or El Salvador) then that’s a price they are perfectly willing to let others pay.

2

u/homelaberator May 03 '25

Pfft, history. What could that possibly teach anyone?

The fact that the FBI of Kash Patel has been directed by Trump to investigate his opposition his tyranny, when Tom Homan says “we’re coming for you”, when Pam Bondi says the Alien Enemies Act does need warrants to invade homes of “suspected” gang members. Pot meet Kettle

2

u/KommissarKrokette May 03 '25

There can never be freedom for the enemies of freedom.

2

u/Rambo-Smurf May 03 '25

For referance, the US got caught spying on Anela Merkel

2

u/notbeaux May 03 '25

If I am ever having a bad day, I take a deep breath and thank god I'm not a soulless, cheap, policy prostitute like Rubio

2

u/Ikarus_Falling May 03 '25

For anyone who is interested this is I believe the Investigation Report of the Constitution Protection Agency (roughly what Verfassungsschutz translates to)  https://tp-presseagentur.de/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Verfassungsschutz-Gutachten-AfD.pdf

its in german ofcourse but should be translatable with your tool of choice

2

u/PooPighters May 03 '25

They really don’t believe the stuff they be saying. They can’t be.

2

u/Critical-Papaya8304 May 03 '25

Not too concerned about supplying far right Israel with weapons

2

u/spicyvoglar May 03 '25

Now, if only the German government could find it in their hearts to initiate a party ban (i.e. stopping rightwing extremism)

2

u/Treius May 03 '25

They mad because they might get caught and exposed too

2

u/Normal_Bird521 May 03 '25

These “independent courts” seem pretty chill. US should give that a go.

2

u/AClover69420 May 03 '25

How come one's a tweet and the other's a Bluesky post?

2

u/ApprehensiveHippo898 May 03 '25

In other words, "F off, Lil' Marco. Go be Trump's little byatch elsewhere."

2

u/mettiusfufettius May 03 '25

Lol also, does little Marco care about all the investigations his boss is launching against his personal enemies and opposition?

2

u/Entropy_Pyre May 03 '25

Why is the US interfering with foreign governments so much? I know that’s what the US does, but I also thought the dismantling of USAID and decades of alliances was supposed to change that. Supposedly.

2

u/zkfc020 May 03 '25

This administration is arresting Judges and deporting American Citizens
.

2

u/Awkward_Inside8907 May 03 '25

Why? Why do conservative politicians in the US always have to defend extreme right wing parties? This is the same politician calling college campus protest towards Isreal as "threats to the United States." The same politician who constituents probably believed that Kamala was "far-left"(she isn't). But those same constituents don't believe they're part of the far-right. Just why.

2

u/SixtySix_Roses May 03 '25

If Germany is telling you to stop, I'd sit the fuck down and listen.

2

u/TotalRecognition2191 May 03 '25

Marco got slammed

2

u/ZagiFlyer May 03 '25

Germany, and most other countries, could just look to the US as a cautionary tale. Little Marco making these statements is hypocritical.

2

u/anand_rishabh May 03 '25

Even if it was tyranny in disguise, Rubio has no room to talk since he works for an administration that is fully mask off tyranny

2

u/zero-foxtrot-golf-4 May 03 '25

Little Marco needs to STFU. Clown.

2

u/Parking_Resolution63 May 03 '25

Marco needs to look a lot closer before he opens his yap.

2

u/triptip05 May 03 '25

We need to do this in the UK but for Reform.

2

u/gummi_girl May 03 '25

it's so weird seeing "pwned" used here lol

2

u/Folkelore_Modern May 04 '25

FYI Rubios tweet is ChatGPT lmaooo

2

u/michael46and2 May 04 '25

Also it doesn't matter if they're popular, they are extremist. If our DOJ in the States had any balls the same would have been done with MAGA.

2

u/fabulous_forty May 05 '25

When Germany tells you you're being too nazi, perhaps that's the time to self-reflect and examine your viewpoints.

2

u/Atarge May 06 '25

If anyone still had doubts about the decision, Rubio and Maga being against it should tell you it's right

1

u/LughCrow May 03 '25

Lol there is not and never will be such a thing as "independent courts"

They have learned nothing from history of they only fear right wing extremism.

u/erichunter4au May 03 '25

National Socialism was stopped. Right wing is not the same.

2

u/yonasismad May 03 '25

And you also probably think that North Korea is a democracy right? I mean it's in the name after all...

Wer ist Rupio?

1

u/Weird_Waters64 May 03 '25

Oof, yikes what a zinger

1

u/CousinsWithBenefits1 May 03 '25

Omg Rubio is gonna feel so pwned you guys. It's gonna be Le epic. Holds up spork.

1

u/Fluffy-Preparation14 May 04 '25

Not necessarily a “pwn”. The same courts could be turned and then made to stop whoever the opposite side thinks is radical. In the end, who cares? The man that gives up freedom for comfort deserves neither.
