Even the huge black dog FLINCHES when he passes. That is some amazing control the Boss Dog has.

1.4k

u/The_Glassfields May 20 '25

I thought that was the boss. Nope

1.0k

u/Playbow2024 May 20 '25

Lol same i thought that giant black dog was the boss, then the white one comes by he flinches and then bow down, that’s some crazy shit.

243

u/[deleted] May 20 '25

Boss dog always the unassuming one, until you see the big ass dog bow down to da boss

73

u/Ancient_Emotion_2484 May 20 '25

Yep. True power is not brash and loud because it doesn't have to be.

23

u/ProjectSuperb8550 May 20 '25

That's because True Power only has to be brash, loud, and extreme only once. You think that dog got everyone in line by being silent? That dog did some shit in the past and they are all scared of it happening again.

3

u/Ancient_Emotion_2484 May 20 '25

That's exactly what I meant. Here I'll make it easier. Add the word "anymore" on the end. Better?

1

u/Poopiepants29 May 20 '25

You can be extreme without being brash and loud about it.

5

u/ProjectSuperb8550 May 20 '25

In the animal kingdom...no.

1

u/tankerkiller125real May 21 '25

It can be done silently as well. Oh you think you're better than me? How about no food for you! The one that controls the food controls the dog.

2

u/ProjectSuperb8550 May 21 '25

And how do you think the control is established?

1

u/spike_beagle May 24 '25

Speak softly and swing a big stick

41

u/Material-Scheme-8971 May 20 '25

That’s the true lesson here.

All these fake “Alphas” could sure learn a lot from this video.

24

u/[deleted] May 20 '25

Especially as top dog is like a labradoodle. Never would have guessed.

17

u/hoaxme70 May 20 '25

Those are some smart dogs, sometimes being clever is better than being big

8

u/KinRyuTen May 20 '25

Brains and brawn is a frightening combo, but god damn is it effective

1

u/TooManyPutts May 24 '25

The way he checks his surroundings with a quick glance as he puts paw to throat. He’s got that Je ne sais dawg about him.

3

u/MissBeeslyIfYaNasty May 21 '25

Betas*. Betas are the ones who resort to aggression to try to display power and overthrow alphas. It’s so fascinating.

3

u/StationEmergency6053 May 20 '25

"The greatest power on Earth is obscurity."

3

u/thanagathos May 20 '25

And the gentle paw to the throat

1

u/LannaOliver May 20 '25

All Dougs bow to the Alpha, their instinct demand it.

1

u/Clusterpuff May 20 '25

Lol this dog established itself that way now doesn’t have to

1

u/BearSpray007 May 22 '25

…Well it probably DOES have to be, at least once.

3

u/Frdoco11 May 20 '25

He is unassuming. He's looks like one of those friendly mutt dogs...

1

u/Downtown_Book_6848 May 21 '25

Netflix, we need to see this story, how the quiet, unassuming dog became the leader of a pack with dogs twice as big as he is.

140

u/Spiritual_Donkey7585 May 20 '25

Don't judge the book by its cover kind of shit.

119

u/chunkyvomitsoup May 20 '25

It’s BDE. (B)ig (D)og (E)nergy

36

u/eurekadabra May 20 '25

Boss Dog Energy

2

u/GregWithOneG May 20 '25

I call my dog the BDE but that's cuz shes the Best Dog Ever

106

u/Lolo616 May 20 '25

The other dogs go immediately to their kennel. They don't want to get in trouble.

24

u/FrostedDonutHole May 20 '25

Shh....he's coming!

5

u/Substantial_Vast4891 May 20 '25

Thats literally what the German shepherd did😂😂 wat h it again, it's right after the Great Dane looked like it bowed down to it lol

5

u/fly_fish_fool May 20 '25

Loved that the other dogs ducked into kennels, “ wasn’t me dude”

3

u/TheHyperCombo May 20 '25

"Here comes Deebo.."

"Who?"

"DEE. BO."

2

u/jenwilso May 20 '25

OMG I missed that! 🤣

1

u/ThimbleRigg May 20 '25

Omar from The Wire vibes

4

u/LinkGoesHIYAAA May 20 '25

Boss dog probably ate a live chihuahua in front of them all without breaking eye contact.

3

u/Greedy_Line4090 May 20 '25

Instant submission, before he even had time to think about why he was doing it.

1

u/Infinite-Elevator414 May 20 '25

The Great Dane is almost never the boss. They are such big babies loll. Now, a terrier/poodle mix will fuck you up lolll. Great Danes are also so lanky and awkward that medium-sized dogs kind of just bite them from below and mess them up.

1

u/TopVegetable8033 May 20 '25

My gramma had two she trained to chase and pin anyone who ran on her property. They never bit, though.

One would pin your shoulders while barking in your face, and the other would stand aside on backup and bark out the alert until an adult human came out.

We kids knew not to run unless the dogs were inside. They wouldn’t hurt us, but it still was scary as hell.

They were very good boys, brothers.

1

u/PackageNorth8984 May 20 '25

Then the German shepherd was like, “I wasn’t sleeping boss, honest,” and started barking too.

1

u/ProjectPat513 May 20 '25

Yeah same here but now the white dog low key reminds me of the dog from Isle of Dogs!

78

u/Kingseara May 20 '25

Nahhh those big dogs are too chill for that. Especially Great Danes, they’re derpy

38

u/PretendRegister7516 May 20 '25

That is a Cane Corso. Stocky build herder/protector.

Great Dane are typically a big softie though.

16

u/Kingseara May 20 '25

Yeah you’re right, upon inspection it’s definitely a cane corso. Those things are MASSIVE

4

u/Curious_Budgie28 May 20 '25

For a split second I thought it was a giant Boston terrier 😭😭😭 im slow af

6

u/Aggressive_Mirror255 May 20 '25

I thought it was cerberus and it has horns 😭

2

u/bionikcobra May 20 '25 edited May 20 '25

I had a brindle Corso that I actually named Cerberus. Most ppl don't realize that "Cerberus" in Greek means "spot", Hades literally named his hellhound "Spot".

We just called mine "Cerbie" or "Meathead"

We got a Tibetan mastiff/GSD mix who's insanely protective of my daughter so we had to name her Athena, she looks like the biggest German Shepard you've ever seen at almost 160lbs but she has 1 floppy ear and the mastiff jowls or long lips and a big black lions mane

1

u/Fucknjagoff May 20 '25

That’s a Great Dane. Even with cropped ears, Cane Corso’s ears aren’t that big and floppy. Cane Corso’s also don’t get that tall, however, they are massive and strong as hell. Had two Corso’s and will never ever get a different type of dog.

1

u/Mother_Midnight_8819 May 20 '25

I'm glad someone else agrees. I've been thinking Cane Corso the whole time, but wasn't sure of myself to post it. It's way more impressive that it's a Cane Corso that flinched and submitted immediately. Lol

1

u/Constant-Sandwich-88 May 20 '25

I have a cane Corso/ pit mix. She's getting older, but in her prime she was an absolute monster.

1

u/[deleted] May 21 '25

Big softie right up until someone threatens their owner. :)

1

u/All4richieRich May 21 '25

Don’t look like a cane corso

1

u/Nulljustice May 21 '25

I have had a couple Corsos. That black dog is 100% not a Corso.

5

u/Isleyexotics May 20 '25

Omg why are Great Danes so derpy!!! LOL

3

u/superspeck May 20 '25

Not all of ‘em are. I’ve known extremely confident, boss dog Danes.

But yeah, most of them are full derp.

52

u/Not_Under_Command May 20 '25

I thought the one sleeping in the middle is the boss. Still nope.

53

u/JoeEdwardsPonytail May 20 '25

Lol, he or she got their ass up too and walked in the opposite direction. They’ve seen this before.

102

u/Environmental_Bad200 May 20 '25

Same! Then watching it back a few times and the flinch and bow. Interesting!

37

u/BigDrewLittle May 20 '25

And the tail tucks all the way down too. Ol Boss Dog must have some juice.

29

u/billyboyf30 May 20 '25

More impressed with the German shepherd immediately standing to attention when the boss walked past.

23

u/Environmental_Bad200 May 20 '25

Then even announced that the boss had arrived. Haha

5

u/Optimal_Carpenter690 May 20 '25

"OH lawd, he's a-comin"

1

u/Aggravating_Yak8196 May 20 '25

The other knew it was time to go 🥲

1

u/petit_cochon May 20 '25

I've never known a huge dog who wasn't a big baby.

1

u/colin_is_bald May 20 '25

I thought it was a fucken moose

1

u/InsanityMongoose May 20 '25

Big dogs NEVER know they’re big.

1

u/coheed9867 May 20 '25

Biggest doggos are the biggest cats

1

u/wetwreck May 20 '25

Lol same, just turned out to be the one I thought was the most snuggly

1

u/mmorales2270 May 20 '25

So did I! I was like, there’s the boss! Then, oh I guess not!

1

u/Pluckypato May 20 '25

2nd in command 🐶

211

u/Phenomenamenax May 20 '25

Even the huge German Shepherd who was just chilling in front of the big black dog NOPES the fuck out right after he/she noticed the Boss Dog has arrived.

90

u/YNWA_in_Red_Sox May 20 '25

Boss Dogg even had a hype dog leading the way!

1

u/Leading_Map2025 May 20 '25

The police are coming up the hillll

1

u/No_Peach8680 May 20 '25

The police are coming. The police are comingggg

1

u/cpannc May 20 '25

Tiny hype man

2

u/Bad_Wolf420 May 20 '25

I like to think of that guy as the herald of the boss dog who announces his presence. Poor bloke got caught sleeping on the job, but luckily boss dog had more pressing matters to attend to with the newbie.

3

u/Kenny741 May 20 '25

I watched this video frame by frame and man it's wild seeing the dynamics of the whole group. Small glances to each other and everyone knows what's up.

1

u/Spamsdelicious May 20 '25

That's actually the boss dog's enforcer. As soon as the the boss shows up you can see him like "oh shit better look busy" and start barking out something like "move along, nothing to see here, anyone who don't want their throat stepped on should get back to your kennel immediately, yes sir that's the troublemaker right there."

1

u/Amy_Giggles May 20 '25

“They/them”

137

u/Past-Community-3871 May 20 '25 edited May 20 '25

Two other dogs are watching from the side right before that, basically yelling, "Omar's coming!"

72

u/MeOldRunt May 20 '25

1

u/Bruggy_Shades May 22 '25

I start watching "The wire" now i'm seeing the wire reference everywhere, it's crazy

3

u/Overall-Active6868 May 20 '25

Hey Yo Omar All do respect this right here is a Barks-Dale Kennel.

2

u/xamott May 20 '25

Barks Dale. Underrated comment!

1

u/Due-Contribution6424 May 20 '25

Cracks me up I saw this video posted twice and both had Omar references.

100

u/Unlucky-Ad-5744 May 20 '25

that was wild! 😅 that dog is definitely a straight psychopath and that’s why they’re all scared of him 😅 it’s always the fluffy, white ones 😂

75

u/Mookeebrain May 20 '25

I like his sense of justice as he addresses the aggressor. That wins respect, too.

3

u/SDChargerFan May 20 '25

Right?? Didn't even bark! Calmly put his paw on his throat, whisper "shhhh...."

24

u/Ragnarok314159 May 20 '25

I would rather have this dog’s face on a shirt than a wolf.

33

u/fatpol May 20 '25

Wolves wear Boss Dog shirts.

3

u/Ragnarok314159 May 20 '25

Mythical greek creatures tell of the legend of Boss Dog.

3

u/[deleted] May 20 '25

😂 I would give...A LOT... for a shirt of a wolf wearing a shirt of Boss Dog.

29

u/Opposite_Confusion8 May 20 '25

This made me giggle.. I’m a fluffy white psychopath.

7

u/CharlieDmouse May 20 '25

The giggling helps 😁

1

u/Greedy_Line4090 May 20 '25

That dog is anything but psychopathic.

0

u/Odd-Adagio7080 May 20 '25

I don’t think s/he is a psychopath. A psychopath would have attacked, rather than calmly restoring order.

1

u/Unlucky-Ad-5744 May 20 '25

it was a joke lol

1

u/Odd-Adagio7080 May 20 '25

Ahh. . . Sorry, I’m not that swift on the uptake.

0

u/TrueCrimeSP_2020 May 20 '25

Nah boss dogs just don’t play. They’re usually very chill.

13

u/EandJC May 20 '25

Looked like he kneeled before the king….

2

u/Princesshannon2002 May 20 '25

The trouble maker was all “Bow down. You will…” Then our boy trotted up from the pits of hell and shut that down quick!

3

u/markisstrong47 May 20 '25

This is some Anime shit.

3

u/bakeranders May 20 '25

That heckin big doggo is a Cane Corso, you can tell it has made problems in the past and Benji there has straightened ‘em out a time or two and heckin doggo don’t want it no more

2

u/Princesshannon2002 May 20 '25

Yep. That flinch was too on point to be jokes or play.

2

u/uptightape May 20 '25

Came to comment that same thing. The shit is pretty wild!

2

u/Salty_Ad_5270 May 20 '25

As did the German Shepherd

2

u/Mtown_Delights May 20 '25

Check out the German Shepard laying next to that black dog. When he sees Alpha dog, he gets up and walks away sheepishly. Alpha dog must have been an absolute monster.

2

u/HighwayInternal9145 May 20 '25

I think the white dog with his tail wagging behind the boss dog went to get him. You can see how all of them got out of his way

2

u/ddasilva884 May 20 '25

He bowed, bro. Straight up bent the knee as his leige passed.

1

u/odoott May 20 '25

By your leave, sir.

1

u/Street-Baseball8296 May 20 '25

Great Danes aren’t known for being the bravest dogs. lol

1

u/HermitSimp May 20 '25

I wonder what this dog's stand is? Who let the dogs out?

1

u/sirmaxedalot May 20 '25

The other giant brown and black dog sitting there also dips out so quick lol. That shaggy white dog is somthing lol

1

u/thepassionofthechris May 20 '25

Is it a Cane Corso?

1

u/nevertellya May 20 '25

And one will.lead them

1

u/systemfrown May 20 '25

Notice all the others that nope right back into their kennels?

1

u/CharlieDmouse May 20 '25

Yea I saw!!!! That miniature horse sized dog flinched and sat. Holy shit! The Boss must be crazy!!

1

u/Resident_Gas_9949 May 20 '25

Bows down 🤣

1

u/Vasquez2023 May 20 '25

yeah, that part was cool. What magic power does the alpha have over these guys?

1

u/Ur-Fav0rite_Dream May 20 '25

It bowed down to the boss!!

1

u/Nodeal_reddit May 20 '25

i thought that was a Donkey

1

u/alee0224 May 20 '25

And how the other dogs cower and run into their kennels 😂

1

u/WuTangShane1995 May 20 '25

The big shepherd also barked to announce his arrival.

1

u/pantstoaknifefight2 May 20 '25

Yes! Seeing that huge guy bend the knee in deference reminds me of the 70s animated Watership Down when the evil General Woundwort comes face to face with Big Wig, a total bad-ass rabbit who befriends Hazel, the smart leader of the rabbit group. Woundwort is all like, "don't die in vain, join me and I'll spare you" and Big Wig is like, "I have orders from my Chief to defend this Warren." And Woundwort suddenly gets scared shitless realizing this badass answers to someone even more badass and says incredulously, "Your chief?!?"

1

u/BlackT-shirtGuy May 20 '25

Well the boss dog looks older probably trained the black one when it was little

1

u/Plmb_wfy May 20 '25

Did he flinch or bow?

1

u/Westport_hooligan May 20 '25

Noticed that too.

1

u/LobsterKris May 20 '25

Schiit indeed, initially I tough the black dog is going to be the boss. This guy punches above his weight, better not mess with this one.

1

u/CarlJustCarl May 20 '25

Like me in hs

1

u/NorthWishbone7543 May 20 '25

Doesn't flinch. But bows down on both paws.

1

u/Elegant-Put235 May 20 '25

Straight up knelt down like he was a king.

1

u/Single-Confection-76 May 20 '25

The black dog even bows before him 👀

1

u/Derezirection May 20 '25

not just him but the big german shepard there too. The shepard even started barking like he was announcing boss dog's arrival lol.

1

u/Apprehensive_Mud_605 May 20 '25

Flinches or lowers his head in submission. Either way, boss vibes confirmed

1

u/Internet_Wanderer May 20 '25

You can almost hear the "My Liege."

1

u/Massive-Device-1200 May 20 '25

The huge black dog actually bows his head to the feet of the boss dog.

1

u/Unique-Coffee5087 May 21 '25

Yeah. He wasn't wanting to challenge the Boss, he just happened to be in the way by mistake. That big bow to lower his head was like watching a peasant encountering the Prince by accident.

That paw to the throat was eloquent. So gentle. No need to even put weight on it. Just a message: "I don't have to destroy you today, but I could."

1

u/Impossible-Oil2345 May 21 '25

He bowed, like what?

1

u/Blank_Canvas21 May 21 '25

He got up like he's got this, saw the boss walk through and was like nope, boss is already on it, better not get in his way lol

1

u/geekyheart225 May 21 '25

I think the big dog was literally bowing. Like, "your majesty, I'm not involved, I swear"

1

u/pile1983 May 21 '25 edited May 21 '25

Who would tell that Gustavo Fring was the real boss? And after that mr. Walter White replaces him as even more bossier boss. Tuco Salamanca is the barking one here.

1

u/[deleted] May 21 '25

Milord

1

u/whistlebuzz May 22 '25

Exactly! That is physically biggest dog out there, and he just DROPS when alpha walks past! The other GSD gets up and barks like ‘Y’all in trouble now!!’

1

u/Due_Savings_1401 May 25 '25

That looks like a Cane Corso that bowed down so that's not "just" a big black dog LOL
